i slept for four hours today. during that four hours, i dreamt that i went back to victoria theatre to retrieve a bag i had left there, and while i went back, i even had to fill in for another drummer who didn't turn up for the concert. then i remember as i was waiting for my item to come, i looked out of the window and saw my school's netball team training and they were all wearing yellow house PE shirts. weird. then finally it was my turn to perform and my mother had to come in to tell me she was going by a talk by Dr. Bacchiocchi. stupid man.
after the dream i did not want to wake up. i really missed that place. like its a very nice place to perform. and the camarederie. i want a gig! desperately!.. yargh!! but i don't think i have a good chance of getting one with my current band. maybe next year we can perform in the school hall again, but i feel that if i want to go further, i must get a better, more dedicated band. and my band is currently lacking a BASS PLAYER. any bass player willing to play latin/jazz/metal/funk/fusion/funk rock or just basically want to form a band and if under 20 years of age and are willing to search for gigs, PLEASE contact me.
bass player, we always need a bass player. after his n levels, my bass player suddenly lost contact with us. yeah he can play deep purple, my rhythm guitarist can, i can, only my lead guitarist cannot. he's just converted to a christian from satanism, and all he EVER wants to play is Steve Vai and bloody christian pop music. u noe that kind of Hillsong crap. its so boring i could die. worst thing is we don't have a singer. of course, we can survive with three members if our rhythm guitarist could play bass. thing is, he CAN'T. and yesterday my lead guitarist told me he did not want to waste money jamming anymore, because he says its a LIMITED amount of time that he's wasting his money for. and i'm like, 'then in the first place why the HELL u spend money on MOVIES?!'. he had nothing to say. i took it as he has lost his dedication towards excelling as a band, or a guitarist. and yes did i tell you rhythm's all off. what's more, when i give him materials to prepare for our jam session, he will only prepare HALF the song, and then either trail off into his own unending solo or another of his crappy christian songs. and we seldom go jamming because we are missing a bass player. no bass player, no point in jamming. no doubt his soloes are Malmsteen quality, but there is a time for a solo and a time for playing normally as the song demands.
my rhythm guirarist's alright, the only thing is the ONLY thing he EVER plays is Metallica, Metallica,... and MORE Metallica. and always the same four songs. For Whom the Bell Tolls, Master of Puppets, Fade To Black and Enter Sandman. he also gets into Police cases everytime, so its hard to contact him when we want to go for a decent jam. like i said that's only once in a while becase our bass player's missing.
so far, we have only created TWO songs, both lasting around 3 minutes and following the same style.
make no mistake i love my band and i still believe they can achieve. i feel that they need to know what they want to achieve and work towards it. right now we are just playing half-songs and on-the-spot jams.
so i am crying out to a bass player out there. or rather a totally new band would be nice. and i'll make my current band a side project.
ah how i reminisce victora theatre while i was there, even though i spent the bulk of my time there sleeping and doing stupid theory homework.
i need a serious band, band, band.
