this i feel i MUST blog.

not too long ago, like less than an hour, guess who gave me a call?

nope.

no.. wrong again.

can't get it right?

UNIVERSAL RECORDS. yes. that Record company. a representative from Universal gave me a call asking me to drum for this new band they were forming. they asked me to meet them at YMS Singapore tomorrow. and that if i could not make it then they asked me to go to Thompson Plaza's Yamaha later on at 6.00pm. hard to believe? believe it man. those were the exact words i heard. they said they were impressed by the performance i gave at Victoria Theatre.

now i do not know what to do. because tomorrow i have soccer training. and i'm not sure if i like the kind of music the band would play, because Universal Music does really commercial stuff. they said it was sort of a Punk/Metal band and they 'really hoped i could come tomorrow'. i wonder if they knew my age. i bet if i told them i was fifteen i'd be out. cuz they were gonna go touring and stuff. now this is totally unexpected.

Universal Music. even for me this is quite a shock. like too good to be true.

My Options :-

1) Give up Schooling and go touring.
2) Continue Schooling and forget about the dumb band.

which one would be wise?

say i chose 1). i could earn a lot of money. but i will give up my lifestyle.

say i chose 2). i could keep my lifestyle, which is what i like, friends and all, but i could give up my big break.

the kind of genre of music that Universal Music produces is quite commercial. i'm supposed to meet them tomorrow. what should i do?

after some thinking...

right now i think my choice is 2). firstly. punk metal is not 'musician's music'. and punk metal's for posers. if it was a Fusion Jazz Band it'll be more like it.. or say a. Power Metal band man. Punk Metal? nah. i have my values intact and i wil always be a TRUE METALHEAD. another thing, it is not hard for me to get a gig in the future, with my dad knowing so many musicians and me knowing quite a few myself.

people might think i am crazy, but.. piss off, Universal Music. i'm not taking any shortcuts to fame.

P.S: the representative did not know my age. i bet fifteen's below the age range. bet they're looking for someone at least eighteen. still it puzzles me how they managed to get my number. they representative did not even noe how to pronounce 'Waterloo Street' properly. in any case i will only play music that i like. as much as i hate schooling, it is the wise choice.
