parable of the ubiquitous piece of blutack.
i have been tormented by what i initially perceived as a rather innocuous piece of blutack that stuck itself to the tip of one of my sports shoes sometime during the glorious last few weeks. in its soft, mushy state, i thought it would drop off by itself. apparently, time does not heal. it solidified and stuck on even harder to my shoe! 20 minutes ago, upon arriving home, i made a resolution to remove the piece of blutack. it was dirty, having soaked up strands of hair, fur, stones, insects, germs and bacteria. after an unsuccessful attempt at removal with toothpicks, i resorted to tougher measures. 'a hard, grooved, metallic key should do it!' how wrong was i! with key in hand and shoe on table i was lancing and striking with all my might. the blutack was more stubborn than i had thought! after much perseverance and as beads of sweat obliged to pour forth, i managed to remove most of the blutack from the shoe's sole. most. in the aftermath of the Battle In the Loo, i was left with crumbs of blutack on the table, a sore, throbbing right index finger, and a life lesson.

i say it again: time does not heal. a small problem, when left untouched, will grow into a bigger one, soaking along many other problems, becoming a difficult problem in itself. therefore, friends, comrades, blutacks, when a problem arises, deal with it! destroy it at its infant stage, for it, upon maturity, will embed itself onto your very sole.
